Henare was a very large boy for nine years old so he was
allowed
to play for his school's best rugby team. Last | |
Saturday he was very excitted because his team was playing
in the final of the competition. He quickly ate his favourite
breakfast of toast and peanut butter and ran off to join his
freinds at the sports ground. Everyone was there when he
arrived. Evrybody wanted to see which team would win. The
players ran out onto the feild and the game started. Both
teams seemed evenly matched and no tries were scored in the
first half. After half time the centre through the ball to Henare.
The next second he was off running straihgt down the middle
of the pitch. The try line was in sight when he felt himself
grabed from behind. He was caught! What should he do?
He pulled, and tugged, and broke free. He hoped around
another tackler and charged forward as if fired from a canon
and dived for the line. He slid across the wet grass and finally
stopped under the posts. A loud cheer went up. Henare looked
up and there was his Dad with the vidio camera.
"Your a champion, son. That was an awesome try!"
