Book review III

This task is about giving a speech about a book you have read.

Give a speech to a small group about a book that you have recently read. Think about the content of your speech (what will say) and your delivery (how you will say it). Your teacher will tell you how long your speech needs to be. Choose a picture from the book or the cover to show your audience as part of your speech. Your audience may ask you some questions about the book at the end of your speech. Make sure you are prepared for this.
  • Write the main points of your speech on cue cards to help you remember them. Do not write out all the words of your speech.
  • Practise giving your speech without looking at your cue cards too often.
The questions below will help you prepare your speech.
  • What is the book called?

  • Who wrote the book?

  • Who are the main characters and what are they like?

  • Where is the story set?

  • Did you like the book? Why?

  • Would you recommend the book to others? Why? Why not?
