Part A:  Thinking about my answer

The diagram with the arrows going in the correct direction is shown below. A letter is placed beside each arrow.
If your arrow is in the correct place and is pointing in the right direction, it is a 2 (e.g., D2 shows that rain can fall into the river).
If your arrow is in the correct place, but going in the wrong direction, it is a 1 (e.g., D1. By putting the arrow this way you are showing that rivers can run into rain!).

Part b): Thinking about my thinking

I drew my arrows like I did because: (tick as many as you like)

I didn't have a clue what to do.
 
That's how diagrams are done.
 
I was trying to work out how the pieces of this diagram matched the water cycle diagrams we usually see.
 
I was confused by the ocean being at the top and the clouds at the bottom.
 
Rain falls down so I drew the arrows going down.
 
I thought about the words that described what the water was doing (e.g., running, evaporating, falling, condensing).
 
I thought a water cycle diagram always had to go round in a circle.
 
I don't know much about water cycles.
 
I didn't know which way the water goes.
 
I wasn't sure about what the arrows mean.
 
I knew that this diagram doesn't show everything about the water cycle, just how water moves between different places and states.
 
I remembered to make my lines into arrows.
