After a long journey to the stars, astronauts have brought back information about a strange robotic creature found on an abandoned space station. They called the robot 'Metallica'.
You are the official outer space artist and you must make a sketch of the creature.
Listen to the description. You will need to work on the drawing as it is read to you. After each sentence there will be a pause while you draw.
Metallica has a body that is shaped like a tin of baked beans.
His head sits on top of his body and is shaped like a rugby ball standing on its end.
He has a happy mouth under his one giant eye.
A helicopter-type propeller is attached to the top of his head.
There are three springs for legs dangling underneath his body to allow for soft landings.
Each leg has something that looks like a gumboot on the end of it.
He has two big triangular ears, each with an aerial attached to it.
He has two short arms with three fingers on each metal hand. At the end of each finger there is a square-shaped fingernail.
Students draw a strange space creature from an oral description. The assessment focus is on listening to descriptions, recalling details, and following instructions.
