How to do this task 

  • Cut out the pictures of the animals.
  • Stick each picture in the box next to the name of the group the animal belongs to.

  • The first set of animal pictures is for use with this task. The second set contains animals that are more difficult to classify. This could be used as an extension.
  • You could ask students what is special about the animals in each group, e.g., birds – because they have feathers.
