The following piece of writing has some spaces where words are missing.

Ko Bakong
 
In Angkor are the ruins of Ko Bakong, the former royal capital of Cambodia. A vast, thick jungle now grows around the place 1 the city once stood. Today, thousands 2 animals run about its crumbling ruins; monkeys, tigers, and other creatures 3 made the ruins their refuge. 4  the tangled vines and tall 5 of the jungle, the highest point may still be seen. And amongst the thick growth smothering the 6 one can with some difficulty 7 the remains of ancient buildings 8 the exquisite work of craftsmen 9 carved in stone. 

Stories of 10 ago relate that this was 11 a splendid city with magnificent 12 towers, golden roof tiles, and wonderful golden window frames in the 13 palace. The many temples and 14 palace used to fly colourful 15 and pennants during celebrations, and many sculptures and carvings adorned the 16 and massive outer walls. Everywhere 17 is evidence of luxury and 18 wealth. All around there 19 signs of stunning beauty and grandeur. Now there is no one left who 20 able to tell us what 21 to the once-powerful 22 of Ko Bakong. The many scholars who study 23 civilisations have been unable to say 24 became of the royal city.
