This task is about preparing and giving a short speech.

Think about someone you know who has done something really good for you or others recently. It could be real or imagined.

Write about that person and what they have done to win the prize you are giving out.

 

Your task is to prepare a short speech (one-minute) presenting a prize, certificate, award, or trophy to another student. Your speech should:

  • make it clear who is getting the prize, certificate, award, or trophy
  • make it clear what is being awarded
  • make one or two points about why this student is receiving the prize or award
  • have a closing comment.

  • This task has an assessment focus on the presentation skills of clarity, reason, and justification.
  • Assessment scoring guides A, B, and C are all suitable for this task.
  • Due to the short length of the speeches, you may need to use selected parts of the scoring guide.
