Students interpret scores from a gymnastics competition, written to two decimal places, finding the lowest and highest scores and ordering sets of four numbers.
From two different street sign pictures and their enlargements, students are to identify the scale factor of each enlargement and either a missing length or the missing factor when enlarging the area.
Using given times for sprinting and given weights of fish, students order the decimal numbers to give the fastest three times and the three heaviest fish.
This task requires students to calculate the size of angles using their knowledge of angles and parallel lines: alternate angles, corresponding angles and co-interior angles. Understanding of adjacent angles on a straight line is also required.
Students compare drawings of a healthy and unhealthy plant, collect data, and decide which data distinguishes them. This is a mathematics/science resource.
