This task is about identifying and correcting common spelling errors.

The story below has some spelling mistakes. Read the story all the way through and draw a circle around all the mistakes you can find. Write the correct spelling of each mistake in the space at the start of each line. If you cannot find a mistake, put a tick (✔) in the space. The first two lines have been done for you.

I will never forget the day I got caught pinching apples off the
picked

neighbour's tree. I had  the apples quite a few times,

but I had never been caught, untill now. I had climbed our

fence and was picking apples from the tree at the back and

tucking them into my sweatshirt when everythink went wrong.

I heard a truck in the driveway. Our neighbour, Mr Johns, was

home early from work. I didn't know what to do. If I jumped

to the ground he would hear me. I froze. What coud I do?

I decided to hide among the leaves of the tree. I watched as

Mr Johns walked arownd the side of the house towards the back

door. I was holding my breath. My luck held as Mr Johns

unlocked his door and began to step inside. Suddenley the

apples began to slide from my sweatshirt. I tryd to grab them

but the movement only made more apples fall.

They hit the ground in a series of thuds. Mr Johns turnd and

saw me. He began to swear at me. I jumped down and started

to run but he caught me and dragged me inside. After yelling

at me, he took me home and told my parants. They yelled at me

too! I don't like apples so much anymore, especially the ones

I can see through my bedroom winder.
