This task is about drawing views of objects from different angles.
Practical Task
Your teacher will show you some objects.
Draw these in the following pages.

Task administration: 
This task can be completed with pencil and paper or online with other equipment.
 
Equipment
Cylinder, cube, rectangular prism, cone, triangular prism.
[Note: Everyday objects may be used.]
  • Label each object as indicated below
    Cylinder – A
    Cube – B
    Rectangular prism – C
    Cone – D
    Triangular prism – E
  • Place the objects in an easily visible place so students can view them and draw them.
  • Students can draw objects in any order.
  • Each object needs to be placed in the following orientations and have the top, front and/or side
  • Labelled as shown below:
  • You may need to explain to students how they are to view the objects. For example, when looking from the top, they are to look straight down on the object not view it at an angle.

Next steps: 
For students who are having difficulty visualising the different views or perspectives, provide them with the physical objects.
Place a small figure (e.g., LegoTM character, plastic zoo animal) so it is looking at each view and get students to draw what the figure/animal can see each time.
