Tua planted a tree which had two leaves on it. Each day he counted the number of leaves it had grown and wrote this number in a table.

a)  What is the rule for this pattern?  Write it down.        
b)  Use your rule to fill in the gaps in the table to show the number of leaves there would be on the plant for the next five days.
