This task is about symmetry and reflection.
Practical task

Tim folded a piece of paper in half and cut some shapes out.

When he unfolded the paper it looked like this:

What to do

  • Fold your piece of paper in half length-wise.
  • Next to the folded edge draw the lines you would need to cut around so that when you opened the paper it would look like Tim's.
  • Show your paper to your teacher, and then cut out the shapes you have drawn.
Task administration: 
This task can be completed with paper and scissors.

A4 paper, pencil.

You may choose to make a model of Tim's paper to show the students.
