This task is about looking at locations on a treasure map.

Here is a map that Pirate Pete uses to find the treasure. He stops for a rest at three places. He looks to the front and can see to the sides when he stops, but he never looks back.

Commentary
Students had considerable success interpreting the map and envisaging what they would see at each stop. About 70 % of the students identified most of the correct choices and very few of the incorrect ones.
