The Department of Conservation website has a large range of resources, activities and events for Conservation week - over 180 across Aotearoa! https://www.doc.govt.nz/news/events/conservation-week/
 
ARB conservation resources mostly involve the Living World context and include the science capabilities: Gather and interpret data and Engage with science.
 

Money Week and the ARBs - September 2019

Money Week 2019 is an annual awareness campaign run by the Commission for Financial Capability (CFFC). It involves resources, tools, activities, seminars, and events to build better financial capability for New Zealanders.

This year Money Week runs from 9th-15th September 2019, and the focus is conversations about money. In 2018 the focus was planning for financial resilience.

We have some handy new online-interactive assessment resources for your classroom that will help get you through winter.

It is great to see so many of you using the online-interactive assessment resources with the Student URL and the My folder feature. For those of you who haven’t tried, make sure that you share the Student URL with your students so you can see their results in the Completed resources tab.

We are looking for a few more classes to trial our new upcoming Level 1 assessment resources.
 

When we develop new resources, we pilot and trial our items with groups of students. Trials are conducted online, with students working individually or small groups. 

They involve students working online with whatever devices they usually use in class or at home (desktop, laptop, tablet).

It's great to offer you a selection of new assessment resources that explore:
  • punctuation and grammar, comprehension and inference in English, with some resources being suitable for ESOL learners;
  • observations, explanations, classification, and exploring patterns in science; and
  • interpreting graphs, properties of shapes, patterns, position and orientation, and a number of the additive and multiplicative operations in maths.

Recycling Week aims to raise awareness about recycling and help people improve their recycling habits. Now in its 5th year, an increasing number of businesses and schools are  proactively taking part in Recycling Week. Check out: Recycling week.
