  • This task assesses students' ability to write down decimal numbers that are read out to them.
  • This assessment activity can be carried out with the whole class, in small groups, or one-to-one.
  • Read each number out twice, pausing for approximately 10 seconds between each reading of the number. When trialled we used the following structure: "The first number is seven and eight tenths, (10 second pause) seven and eight tenths, (10 second pause). The second number is thirty-four and seventy-two hundredths, (10 second pause)…", and so on.
