This task is about finding all possible combinations.
Use the 3 dice you have been given to investigate how many different ways they can be turned so that they only show odd numbers on the top faces. The first three patterns have been recorded for you.

You will see that each dice is moved to make a new combination.

This task is completed with pencil and paper, and other equipment.
 
Equipment:
A set of 3 different coloured dice; a pencil; Table Sheet for each student.
  • This task assesses students' ability to investigate possible combinations using 3 dice.
  • The practical activity in this task can be carried out with one student at a time or by observing a small group of students working independently.
